Character: May
Outfit: Contest dress
Game: Pokémon Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire
Competition: KumoriCon 2022
Pink and purple gradients, gravity-defying skirt, and more gems you can shake a stick at. My sister fell in love with this cosplay and I knew I had to make it for her. We’re both huge Pokémon fans, playing since Red and Blue originally came out. When I proposed to her that I wanted to do a Pokémon skit, she was ready to join me.

Competition info
We competed as a duo at KumoriCon 2022. I had a huge dance planned and a month before the contest, I sprained my ankle and we changed our plans. For the skit, we had a competition battle complete with streamers, ribbons, and a lot of Pokémon plushes.
Build Book
Here is the build book I submitted to the judges. This covers how all the patterning, how the skirt was made, and how everything defies gravity. You can also detailed information about many of the techniques in tutorials listed above.
Cosplay gallery
As we were not always avid in taking photos at the time, I included dress form photos to show off the cosplay.
