Single artwork outfits have always been a favorite of mine, especially for 90s shoujo. When I revisited a bunch of 90s series for ideas, I knew I wanted to make this specific one. The challenge was figuring out how it actually worked. Are those sleeves, a cape, or something else? How do the leg bands stay up? What kind of hat is that?

Much of this outfit was just outfit engineering. I made them Chinese pipa sleeves with felt crescents to go with the historical Chinese feel of the series. The hat is a princess hat from the Qing dynasty. And the leg bands are held up with clear straps. The outfit is also full of sequins and mica powder to make it 90s shiny.
