I am a sucker for anime musicals, and Sailor Moon really brought on that obsession. I had made musical versions before, but the Un Nouveau Voyage version was definitely the most intensive. I did a crazy giant styled wig, I worked with trims, I even sculpted my own brooch. The whole build was kind of a disaster with the arm bands constantly slipping, losing multiple gems, and wearing a wig that weighed about 10lbs that was constantly losing hair. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was a really good learning experience.

And even with how much of a disaster it was, it still was one of my favorite early craftsmanship builds.

Competition info

Renton City Comic Con was a local con in the Seattle area that had a smaller comic con-style competition that was mainly walk-on and strut your stuff. I’m pretty sure my hair was all falling down and I’d lost half my gems by the time the competition started, but I had fun anyway.
