I am a huge Soul Calibur fan, so when I picked who to cosplay first, I chose my main. It was one of my earliest cosplays, and I didn’t know too much about detailing yet. I made it with basic materials and details and platform Hot Topic boots I already had. I later changed the boots as I fell down the stairs twice in them.

Competition info

I competed in two different skits with this outfit.

For FanimeCon, Maxi shows up to Final Fantasy Idol accidentally as he was looking for the Elvis impersonation convention. Whoops.

For YaoiCon, he joins other Soul Calibur 2 characters to teach the audience sexy English. Our instructional cards became so popular during the competition, we won the Wildcard award, which was a “whatever this is, it’s great” award.
